@Derek_Lee27
Per Ducks, no injury for Leo Carlsson. He’s sitting out tonight’s game for the same reason he sat out Sunday night’s game.

It’s all part of a schedule based on a strength and development program. I am told he will still play in a majority of Anaheim’s games.

@Aportzline
Word at the rink this morning is that #FlyTogether rookie Leo Carlsson is not expected to play tonight vs. #CBJ.

@icemancometh
Leo Carlsson won't be in the @AnaheimDucks lineup vs. @NHLBruins. Will occasionally sit out in first half of season and not performance-based. As spelled out in my piece, GM Pat Verbeek has a plan to have him be a "horse" in second half of season.

@mikemorrealeNHL
With Carlsson (No. 2 pick), Bedard (No. 1 pick) & Fantilli (No. 3 pick) all getting a pt in their 1st gm, the '23 draft class is the 2nd in NHL history to have the top 3 picks find the score sheet in their NHL debut in the next season (2009 Draft; Tavares, Hedman, Duchene).

@AnaheimDucks
Leo Carlsson is the second-youngest Duck to score a goal in his NHL debut, trailing only Mason McTavish.

@AnaheimDucks
At 18 years and 297 days old, Carlsson will become the third-youngest Duck in franchise history to make his NHL debut.

Only Oleg Tverdovsky and Mason McTavish made their debuts at a younger age. https://t.co/9Hv6LHMJOC

Leo Carlsson says the goal is to play on Thursday against Dallas but obviously doesn’t want to rush anything.

“I want to be 100% (for) the first game, of course.”

A warm welcome back to Leo Carlsson, who is on the ice for today’s practice.

@gregbeacham
No. 2 pick Leo Carlsson tells me he’s probably not going to make his NHL debut for the Ducks this weekend due to his minor injury, but he’s planning to play next week.

Anaheim is home vs Dallas next Thursday, so it seems like that could be the night.

@Felix_Sicard
Carlsson on IR to start the season is a big ol' bummer. But better to be cautious with the injury than rush him back.

@91_Pluty
Carlsson
Mintyukov
LaCombe
Groulx
Dostal

All 5 have made the Ducks opening night roster.

Prioritizing and rewarding young guns who have earned a shot is a positive trend in Verbeek’s decision making. Super excited for the influx of youth.

@FriedgeHNIC
Good news on Leo Carlsson. Anaheim’s talented rookie centre was not injured as badly as it looked in practice yesterday. Not sure on timeline, but not as long as initially feared.

@Derek_Lee27
Leo Carlsson just had to be helped off the ice at practice. Couldn’t put pressure on his right skate.
